The University of Tennessee Medical Center extends sincere appreciation to the leadership and participants in the Champions for a Cause events – Links Fore the Cure women’s golf tournament and Cruisin’ for a Cause motorcycle ride against breast cancer. These events helped raise support and awareness for the Cancer Institute’s Breast Health Outreach Program; helping thousands of women throughout East Tennessee receive access to mammograms and breast health educational programs.
Recently, Renee Repka from Champions for a Cause presented a proceeds check for $46,000 to Dr. John Bell, Director of the Cancer Institute, Dr. Susan Huntsinger with University Cancer Specialists, and Mae King and Melissa Cate with the Breast Health Outreach Program.
This tremendous outpouring of support for the patients, families and staff of the Cancer Institute, and we would like to thank the Champions for a Cause Board of Directors and all the event participants for the dedication and commitment to the battle against breast cancer.
