The following are pulmonary services at UT Medical Center.

Evaluation and management of a variety of lung related illnesses, such as

• Difficulty Breathing 
• COPD / Emphysema 
• Asthma  
• Pulmonary Fibrosis
• Lung Cancer
• Sleep Disorders
• Acute/Chronic Pneumonia
• Lung Nodules/Other X-Ray Abnormality
• Pulmonary Hypertension
• Bronchiectasis/Cystic Fibrosis
• Pulmonary Embolism
• Sarcoidosis
• Chronic respiratory failure

Testing services include

• Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT) and Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis
• Bronchoscopy with lung biopsy
• Thoracentesis and pleural biopsy
• Exercise testing

Interventional Pulmonology services include

• Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) guided biopsies
• Therapeutic bronchoscopy
       - Tumor destruction using thermal ablation, cautery, or cryotherapy
       - Tracheobronchial dilation and stenting
       - Removal of aspirated foreign bodies
• Placement of a pleural catheter for home drainage
• Transtracheal oxygen catheter placement

Other Services

• Smoking cessation counseling
• Provide medical staff to the UT Chest Cancer Clinic
• Asthma school in our office
• Community education
• Clinical research
