We provide a comprehensive continuum of cancer services, including prevention, outreach, diagnostic, treatment and support services delivered by our highly skilled staff with compassion and care.
The Center for Women & Children's Health is a hub for supporting women's and children's individual healthcare needs. The center provides support, research and unmatched patient-centered care.
Emergency and Trauma Services is the only Level I Trauma Center in the area and serves as the tertiary referral center for medical care in East Tennessee, serving Knox County and 21 surrounding counties.
The Heart Lung Vascular Institute brings together expertise in clinical care, teaching and research. Patients receive exceptional healthcare combined with patient-centered care.

In January 2005, the first patient was treated with CyberKnife at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Physicians from the Cancer Institute and the Brain and Spine Institute collaborated to bring this cutting-edge technology to patients in East Tennessee and surrounding states making available stereotactic radiosurgery as an option for those with tumors and painful neurological conditions.
The precise targeting of the CyberKnife allows treatment of conditions not only in the brain, but other parts of the body. This precision also minimizes the damage to healthy tissue surrounding the tumor and allows access to tumors not accessible by other means.
In many cases, CyberKnife is an effective alternative to traditional surgery. At the end of the second year of operation, 149 individuals and 186 lesions had been treated by our CyberKnife bringing new hope and enhanced quality of life to many.
