Emergency and Trauma Services is the only Level I Trauma Center in the area and serves as the tertiary referral center for medical care in East Tennessee, serving Knox County and 21 surrounding counties.

Conditions CyberKnife Treats

CyberKnife treats several different types of malignant and benign tumors and lesions, as well as certain other medical conditions, in virtually any area of the body. The Food and Drug Administration approved the CyberKnife to treat tumors in the head, neck and upper spine in 1999 and tumors anywhere in the body in 2001. Globally, more than 200,000 patients have been treated with CyberKnife.
