CyberKnife Annual Reports

The University of Tennessee Medical Center established the first and only CyberKnife facility in Knoxville. The first patient was treated in January 2005. Since then, the UT Medical Center CyberKnife team has provided thousands of treatments to patients throughout eastern Tennessee and the Southeast region.

Physicians from the Cancer Institute and the Brain and Spine Institute collaborated to bring this cutting-edge technology to patients in East Tennessee and surrounding states.

The CyberKnife system uses the combination of robotics and image guidance to deliver concentrated and accurate beams of radiation to intracranial and extracranial targets, many of which are inoperable. Because of its high precision and accuracy, CyberKnife can noninvasively achieve a surgical-like outcome for lesions in the body. In many cases, CyberKnife is an effective alternative to traditional surgery.

Please take a moment to view our annual report highlighting our continued commitment to provide the best possible care to those who come to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The latest CyberKnife technology coupled with our team of caring health care professionals are here for your well-being.

Thank you for the opportunity to share these stories of success and hope.
