• Static dementia: As its name suggests, static dementia is not progressive and usually follows a brain injury, cardiac arrest or cerebral hemorrhage.
• Pseudodementia: This form of dementia is treatable - it's a symptom of an underlying disorder or chemical imbalance. It can occur in people with schizophrenia or personality disorders, as well as those taking large amounts of sedatives or other medications. Pseudodementia can also be caused by depression, chemical imbalances or drug reactions.
