The Brain and Spine Institute is made up of experts in the field of neuroscience in order to bring patients the best healthcare in East Tennessee for a full range of neurological diseases and disorders.
We provide a comprehensive continuum of cancer services, including prevention, outreach, diagnostic, treatment and support services delivered by our highly skilled staff with compassion and care.
The Center for Women & Children's Health is a hub for supporting women's and children's individual healthcare needs. The center provides support, research and unmatched patient-centered care.
Emergency and Trauma Services is the only Level I Trauma Center in the area and serves as the tertiary referral center for medical care in East Tennessee, serving Knox County and 21 surrounding counties.
The Heart Lung Vascular Institute brings together expertise in clinical care, teaching and research. Patients receive exceptional healthcare combined with patient-centered care.

At the UT Medical Center Cancer Institute we are proud to be a part of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) research program through our scientists that have been chosen for NCI research funding.
The National Cancer Institute was established in 1971 to eliminate or control all cancers by stimulating and supporting research around the world. Some of the best minds in the world submit research projects to understand cancer and develop better ways to detect, diagnose, treat and control it. These people conduct studies at NCI and other sites in our country and abroad. NCI provides the vision and resources that innovative scientists need to focus on steering major breakthroughs. Research supported by NCI must go through a rigorous selection process, in which scientists who are recognized as leaders in a particular field review and “grade” each research proposal. Only the research considered to be the most promising is ultimately selected for grant support
