Nutrition
It’s important for kids and adults, husbands and wives, people with diseases and without. Good nutrition during treatment is one way you can help fight cancer. Maintaining good nutrition makes side effects more manageable and improves quality of life.
My name is Anna Gewecke, and I am the licensed dietitian/nutritionist at the Cancer Institute. I can teach you about good nutrition during and after cancer treatment. I can help you learn how to deal with problems, including loss of appetite, nausea, taste and smell changes, high blood sugar and weight gain.
I am available in the Cancer Institute on Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and to Radiation Oncology patients all day on Thursdays.
If you see me at your oncologist’s clinic or in the Chemo Hut, stop me and ask a question! I want to help you learn to eat better to fight your cancer. If you would like to contact me otherwise, email me at agewecke@utmck.edu or call 865.305.8099.
Sincerely,
Anna Gewecke
