Treatment approaches are designed to overcome dysfunction, compensate for deficits, and ultimately, enhance the ability of individuals to function independently. It is occupational therapy's mission to prevent injury or disability, to restore individuals' functional capacities to an optimum level, and to assist them in maintaining that level.
- Acute Care Setting - Interventions are geared toward maximizing the individual's level of functioning in preparation for the next level of care.
