The Department of Radiology at UT Medical Center offers a range of imaging services and annually performs more than 250,000 procedures/exams. The department is staffed by approximately 170 employees supported by approximately 35 School of Nuclear Medicine and Radiography students. The Department of Radiology also offers schools in radiography and nuclear medicine technology, and is a clinical rotation site for Roane State Community College School of Radiography.

The Department of Radiology is an integral part of many of the centers and institutes at UT Medical Center. Many diagnoses are made utilizing a wide variety of services such as CT, MRI/MRA, Ultrasound, PET / CT Scan, Angiography, Full-Field Digital Mammography, PET, lung scan, DISIDA scan, bone joint scan and Nuclear Medicine. For example, unexpected diseases such as aortic aneurysm or lung mass are discovered during routine diagnostic radiology testing for unrelated conditions.

The Radiology file room hours are Monday through Friday 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
