UT Medical Center’s Respiratory Services provides formal training in programs for respiratory therapists, paramedics and nurses. In July 2006, the University of Tennessee will offer Knoxville’s only formal Pulmonology fellowship, a two-year training program for qualified physicians who will lead the fight against respiratory diseases in the future. Almost 2,000 pulmonary laboratory studies were performed in 2004 using its advanced technology.
