Broccoli has a lot of phytochemicals that help fight cancer. This is my favorite way to eat broccoli. Letting it brown slightly before adding the water adds a delicious flavor.
1 bunch of broccoli cut into bite size pieces
1 Tbs oil
1/3 tsp salt
1/3 tsp sugar
1/3 cup water
Heat the oil in a wok or large pan. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for 5-8 minutes, until the broccoli is beginning to brown.
Meanwhile, mix the salt, sugar and water. After the broccoli has cooked for 5-8 min, pour the water mixture over it and cover.
Let the broccoli steam for another 5 minutes, until crisp-tender and the water is evaporated.
