"A magnet hospital provides us with avenues for educational opportunities, specialty certification, nurse driven research and shared governance. The nurses provide the best care possible for the patient evidenced and supported by patient outcomes."

"I believe that people come to the hospital for MD's and Specialists but they stay in the hospital for nursing care. Nurses do what we do (direct patient care, research, unit/system councils, administration, certify, educate....) ultimately for our patients and better patient outcomes."

"For University of Tennessee Medical Center to earn Magnet Status validates the excellent nursing staff that I have grown to love during my employment here. I honestly feel that the care provided every day by our nurses is top notch and should be recognized as so. The collaboration throughout the hospital was a thrilling thing to witness."
