The Brain and Spine Institute is made up of experts in the field of neuroscience in order to bring patients the best healthcare in East Tennessee for a full range of neurological diseases and disorders.
We provide a comprehensive continuum of cancer services, including prevention, outreach, diagnostic, treatment and support services delivered by our highly skilled staff with compassion and care.
The Center for Women & Children's Health is a hub for supporting women's and children's individual healthcare needs. The center provides support, research and unmatched patient-centered care.
Emergency and Trauma Services is the only Level I Trauma Center in the area and serves as the tertiary referral center for medical care in East Tennessee, serving Knox County and 21 surrounding counties.
The Heart Lung Vascular Institute brings together expertise in clinical care, teaching and research. Patients receive exceptional healthcare combined with patient-centered care.

In order to maintain the challenge of providing continuity in our exceptional patient care and meet the life changes and needs of our employees, we offer flexible scheduling options. A significant amount of our adulthood is invested in the workplace; we want our staff to experience professional satisfaction, personal balance and opportunities for choices. Throughout the medical center, there are a variety of schedules available including full or part-time positions with varying shifts.
As a regular full or part-time employee (50% or greater), you may participate in our benefit programs.
The nursing registry (variable scheduling) provides nurses with a balance between work and other life obligations. Nursing assignments can be as structured or as flexible as you choose. It is a great job opportunity to work your schedule around family, school and other obligations as well as maintain your nursing skills and develop a network of colleagues.
There are a variety of options that allow flexible work schedules, premium pay and excellent benefits with minimal commitments. Some of the advantages include scheduling options, benefits (if 50% or greater), premium pay rate, work location options and life balance. Now, nurses participating in the UT Medical Center’s Advanced Commitment Registry will have a choice of areas to work in, including medical, surgical, critical care, heart lung vascular, women’s and pediatrics.
Nurses always have the option to transition into regular, full time nurse positions as their needs and interests change without having to seek a new environment.
