When your physician orders outpatient laboratory work, you may go to the outpatient laboratory at the University of Tennessee (UT) Medical Center where blood or other samples can be collected. Dynacare – Tennessee operates UT Medical Center’s laboratories in a partnership with University Health System Inc.
Your physician should give you a completed Dynacare – Tennessee Outpatient Laboratory Order Form or a hospital outpatient laboratory order form that will include the name of the test(s) ordered, diagnosis and the doctor’s signature. This information is required before blood samples for laboratory tests can be obtained.
Outpatients are served from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week at the Dynacare-Tennessee laboratories.
Outpatients with hospital laboratory order forms must stop by outpatient registration to register for the exact date laboratory services are performed.
UT Medical Center is located on Alcoa Highway about 1/4 mile south of the bridge across Ft. Loudon Lake (Tennessee River). The exit off Alcoa Highway is well marked.
The Outpatient Laboratory is conveniently located in the Physicians Office Building C, Suite 155. This suite is on top of the parking garage. The outpatient laboratory is easily accessible by elevators that are located across from the laboratory. This suite is on the street level and is best reached by parking in the Visitor’s Parking Area in front of the hospital and by walking to the first door on the right as you approach the front entrance near the flagpole.
The main laboratory may be reached by entering the main hospital entrance and following the signs to the laboratory.
