Trauma Center Patient Guide
The Critical Care Lounge for family members of trauma patients is located on the second floor on the North side of the hospital. The Surgical Critical Care unit has an open visitation policy. Visitors are allowed in the unit 24 hours a day with the exception of 6am-830am and 6pm-830pm. The lounge closes daily from 11:30am-12:30pm for cleaning. Receptionists are available to answer questions and help in any way possible.
Patient visitation lounge policies are as follows.
- Two family members per patient in lounge.
- Minimum age for visitors is 12 years of age.
- Two family members wearing visitor passes may visit at a time.
- Cell phones are allowed, please place them on vibrate or low.
- No food or drinks are allowed in the patient rooms.
- A sleep area is available in the lounge
- Coffee and tea are available in lounge.
- Vending machines are located inside the lounge.
- AllSpice Café is located on the hospital’s first floor.
- Shower facilities are available on the 4th floor.
- The UT Medical Center Gift Shop is on the first floor by AllSpice Café.
