An estimated 20 million Americans suffer from asthma.

Affecting 1 in 15 nationally, its prevalence is felt right here in East Tennessee with Knoxville being named one of the most challenging cities to live with asthma. Join Dr. Paul Branca, pulmonary and critical care medicine, to learn more about what causes asthma and the best treatment options on Tuesday, May 22 2012 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Although there is no cure, new technologies such as the minimally invasive Bronchial Thermoplasty are being used at The University of Tennessee Medical Center to reduce severe asthma symptoms.
