Parking—Parking is available in the public/visitor’s parking garage located next to the Heart Lung Vascular Institute building. Parking rates: $2 per day for cars that stay in the parking lot. Each entrance and exit will cost $2.
If a patient is scheduled to stay for several days, visitors may obtain a special parking pass at a reduced weekly rate of $5, which will be valid from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Weekly passes may be purchased at the parking booths or in the Admitting Office, located in the main lobby. Faily passes (one additional person) may be purchased for just $8.
Cellular telephones—Cell phones can pose a hazard to patients, especially those in special care units who are using certain types of medical equipment. They can interfere with the operation of medical devices so use is only permitted in the main lobby, outside the building or in areas posted for safe use.
Personal Electric Equipment—We ask that patients leave all personal electrical equipment such as electric hair dryers, shavers and hair-setting equipment at home. Certain exceptions may be made by checking with the nurse. The nurse will contact the hospital’s safety officer for review of the exception request.
No Smoking Facility—UT Medical Center maintains a smoke-free / tobacco-free environment for the health, safety and comfort of its patients, visitors and staff. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the medical center campus. This tobacco ban applies to all patients, families and visitors both inside and on the grounds of the hospital.
