Healthy Living

July / August 2009

Dear Reader,

Back to school time serves as a reminder to tend to our own healthcare needs. As you schedule dental and doctor appointments for your kids, you also may begin thinking about the last time you had a check up and immunizations. Annual exams are just as important for you as they are for your kids. Early detection of many conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and pre-cancerous cells can help you prevent or slow down the development of diseases such as heart disease, stroke or various cancers, including skin, prostate or breast cancer.

Below are articles to keep you safe and healthy the rest of the summer as well as help you while planning your own annual exams and screenings. Be sure to read our patient story on the importance of early detection and screenings specifically for prostate cancer. And, as always, we offer healthy eating tips and recipes that help you avoid the drive thru even on the hottest day.

Keep cool!
