Healthy Living

September / October 2007

Dear The University of Tennessee Medical Center,

"Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn."

Ah, yes. Enjoying the quiet calm of the fall. It's my favorite time of year, but also the best time to stand up, get moving and enjoy the crisp autumn that lay before us. If the summer heat got you down, the fall is bound to get you moving again. If you have been looking for ways to change up the same 'ole everything, then Healthy Living this month is the place to look.

Find ways to lower your cholesterol, quit smoking, improve your diet and increase your exercise. Try putting your exercise efforts to good use by walking during the Komen Race for the Cure on Oct. 20. Vol fans can enjoy tailgating with a healthier menu. Spend time with your family hiking, biking or playing in leaves. Read tips on how to prevent the flu this season, and visit a daddy-mother-baby show that is the Greatest Show on Birth.

Enjoy autumn's playground and get moving!

Warm Wishes,
Wendi Hope Bishop
