Cancer Institute's Teri Green Earns Clinical Social Worker License

Teri A. Green, the social worker for the Cancer Institute, successfully completed her Tennessee State board examination to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). LCSWs are held to a high standard of education and training in addition to the completion of a required number of continuing educations hours every two years.

Green joined the University of Tennessee Medical Center’s Cancer Institute in March 2006. Her professional and personal attributes have strengthened the Cancer Institute’s capacity to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and coordinated cancer care. Her extensive administrative and leadership skills benefit several community education and support groups.

Green received a scholarship to attend Maryville College, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology. Green went on to a postgraduate program at Washington University in St. Louis, MO and achieved her Master’s degree in social work (MSW). Prior to joining the UT Medical Center, she worked as a social worker in a Nashville healthcare facility.
