If you’re looking for a rewarding way to volunteer your time while having a positive impact on the lives of those facing a difficult situation, you’ll want to attend the upcoming UT Hospice volunteer training.
The training, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the UT Hospice Cherokee Place office, located at 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Suite 102, will provide an orientation and training, as well as explain a multitude of volunteering options for those in attendance. Registration is required for the training by calling 865.544.6222.
“When you reach outside of yourself and give to others during challenging times in their lives, you can get back just as much or even more than you give,” said Brenda Salmons, volunteer coordinator at UT Hospice. “You learn a lot about yourself when you volunteer. Our volunteers find they’re able to grow personally and find a great deal of reward and satisfaction from their time with UT Hospice.”
Hours are flexible and volunteers are able to choose from three different areas.
UT Hospice volunteers are asked to attend several in-service training sessions each year. There are some requirements in order to be qualified to volunteer with UT Hospice, including the following.
