Thursday, January 17, 2008

The University of Tennessee Medical Center released its 2006 Trauma Report, which is designed to give an overview of the region's trauma patient demographics, volume, acuity and outcomes. UT Medical Center is the only Level I Trauma Center in the area for adults and children and serves as the tertiary referral center for medical care in East Tennessee, serving Knox County and 21 surrounding counties.

The trauma center provides care for the most critically ill and injured patients 24-hours-a-day, every day.

The University of Tennessee Medical Center continues to provide regionalized care for injured patients. Reading this report will give you a tour of the trauma center, and it will allow you to meet some of the people who are there, every hour of every day, waiting to care for severely injured patients.
