Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Nurse Earns CCRN

The Heart Lung Vascular Institute at the University of Tennessee Medical Center announced that Mary Blankenship, a nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, earned the Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) certification.

More than ever, patients require intricate care from a highly skilled healthcare team. CCRN certification provides patients and their families with validation that the nurse caring for them has demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in the complex specialty of critical care.

CCRN certification is a voluntary process of validating knowledge, skills and abilities beyond the scope of RN licensure.

The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Certification Corp. administers the CCRN Certification Program to protect the healthcare consumer by validating the knowledge of nurses who provide nursing care to the critically ill.
