New Weight Loss Option Available to Help You Lose Between 10 and 100 Pounds

Weight Loss Program that can Work for You!
Summer is just around the corner. So is swimsuit season.
If the thought of getting into your swimsuit isn’t a pleasant one, you should know there’s a safe, easy and non-invasive weight loss program available for you at the Tennessee Weight Loss and Surgery Center at UT Medical Center. If you just need to lose 10 pounds, or if you need to lose up to 100, the Health Management Resources (HMR®) Program for Weight Management can be an option for you.
“Chronic dieters who burn out after failing repeatedly on their own at weight loss attempts can find the structure and support they need at the Tennessee Weight Loss and Surgery Center,” said Dr. John Scott, a surgeon with the Tennessee Weight Loss and Surgery Center. “The HMR program is a perfect option for those who want to lose weight but don’t need surgery. Our meals take the guesswork out of eating right. And the knowledge we share with participants about healthy food choices, portion control and exercise can help bring about the lifestyle changes they need to stay on track for the rest of their lives.”
The HMR® program features nutritionally complete weight-loss foods, including shakes, soup, nutrition bars and entrees. The meals do not require refrigeration and cook in the microwave in just 60 seconds.
Program participants may choose to have a complete medical screening before starting the diet and then meet regularly with the center’s team of health educators and physicians for support and guidance. Participants also may choose to simply buy the meals and supplements in order to diet at home without supervision. Either way, they are apt to lose weight, as research shows that using low-calorie, portion-controlled meal replacements produces greater weight loss and weight maintenance than standard diets, according to Dr. Scott, who learned first-hand about the benefits of the HMR® program.
“In deciding to follow the same advice I give patients concerning portion control and caloric intake, I started using the HMR® program,” Dr. Scott explained. “In less than two months, I’ve lost 17 pounds. I look better, feel better and have more energy. But most important, from a clinical perspective, I know I’m now leading a healthier lifestyle.”
Once participants have lost their excess weight, they are supported by an extensive maintenance program.
The HMR® Program for Weight Management was developed by HMR®, the nation’s leading provider of weight-treatment services to the medical community. The Tennessee Weight Loss and Surgery Center’s program is administered by University Surgeons Associates, P.C., a group whose surgeons also perform gastric bypass and adjustable gastric banding surgeries.
