No matter what your plans are for the 4th of July, they usually climax with a fireworks show. All fireworks—no matter how small the size—are dangerous. Even sparklers can burn or start fires. Many people are seriously injured (burns and eye injuries are the most common) each year by all kinds of fireworks. In addition, hazards are elevated with the particularly dry conditions that East Tennessee is experiencing.
It is best to leave fireworks to the experts. However, if you live in an area that allows you to light fireworks and you choose to do so, you need to take precautions to protect you and all of those people around you during your holiday celebrations.
