UT Medical Center names Anderson director of Accreditation and Patient Safety

The University of Tennessee Medical Center recently named Tami Anderson, MSN, RN, CPHQ, CSHA, as director of Accreditation and Patient Safety. In this position, she is responsible for maintaining hospital-wide licensure with the State Department of Health and maintaining accreditation with The Joint Commission as well as working to continually improve patient safety.

“This is an exciting time to be involved in patient safety and quality,” Anderson said. “I appreciate the opportunity to work to improve the care and services we provide to our patients at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. “

Anderson joined the medical center in 1989. She earned a BS in Nursing from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, and an MSN from University of Alabama at Birmingham. Anderson is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and Certified Specialist in Healthcare Accreditation. She holds professional memberships in the National Association for Healthcare Quality, American Society for Quality and Association for Healthcare Accreditation Professionals.

Anderson lives in Blount County with her husband, Kevin. They have two adult children. She enjoys gardening and crewing for her husband in sailplane races.
