Holiday festivities brighten the season at the Cancer Institute

The 2009 holiday season heralded a number of events bringing cheer to patients, families and staff at the Cancer Institute. On Dec. 15, the first ever “Holiday Celebration” was held at the Cancer Institute. Musicians and singers that included patients, staff and community members provided an all-day musical concert in the Cancer Institute waiting room. Hot cider and holiday treats were served, and the day was complete with a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Clause.

Musical performances continued to flow at the Cancer Institute as a trio from the 200-member Grace Worship Orchestra treated patients and visitors to a holiday music concert on Dec. 18. The following week, 5th grade students from Sacred Heart Elementary School surprised Cancer Institute patients with handmade heating packs crafted from rice grains encased in decorative fabric.

Patients, families and staff all thoroughly enjoyed the holiday celebrations. We thank the following individuals and groups for their contributions that brighten the season for many.
