This Weekend: Education & screenings help you stay 'Heart Wise'

Are you Heart Wise about your heart? Are you at risk for heart disease? Which foods should you eat for good heart health? Do women experience different symptoms than men when having a heart attack? On Saturday, Feb. 20, find out the answers to these questions and more at UT Medical Center Heart Lung Vascular Institute's second annual HeartWise. Talk to doctors and other health experts, attend health education programs and receive free or discounted heart health screenings.

Program Schedule (no registration required):
- 9 a.m. - Grocery Shopping Tips for a Healthy Heart
- 10 a.m. - Congestive Heart Failure: Symptoms and Treatments
- 11 a.m. - Women and Heart Disease
- 12:30 p.m. - Healthy Living Kitchen Cooking Demonstration
Throughout the morning:
- Diabetes and Stroke Education
- Video tour of the region’s only dedicated Heart Hospital
- Ask-A-Doc
Screenings include:
- Comprehensive cardiovascular risk assessment for $15.
- Free COPD pulmonary testing.
- Cardiac calcium scoring, utilizing the non-invasive 64-slice CT Scanner, for $99
