The Center for Women & Children's Health is a hub for supporting women's and children's individual healthcare needs. The center provides support, research and unmatched patient-centered care.
Emergency and Trauma Services is the only Level I Trauma Center in the area and serves as the tertiary referral center for medical care in East Tennessee, serving Knox County and 21 surrounding counties.
The Heart Lung Vascular Institute brings together expertise in clinical care, teaching and research. Patients receive exceptional healthcare combined with patient-centered care.

The University of Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Institute will join hundreds of communities throughout North America and the world in celebrating the 23rd annual National Cancer Survivor’s Day on June 6, 2010. This annual event honors the strength and courage of those who are living with cancer and those who have overcome it. It also is a time to recognize the family members, friends and medical professionals who have supported cancer patients in their cancer journey. Approximately 11 million Americans now living have been diagnosed with cancer.
At UT Medical Center’s 8th Annual Celebrating Life event, cancer patients, family members, friends and Cancer Institute physicians and staff will come together to recognize this special day Cancer patients will be honored with a special gift. The event also will feature more than 20 educational booths, music, door prizes, refreshments and children’s activities.
Major advances in cancer prevention, early detection and treatment have resulted in longer survival and, therefore, a growing number of survivors. Despite the adversities they often face, cancer patients continue to show resilience by living active, productive lives.
The Cancer Institute’s Celebrating Life will be held at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in the AllSpice Café. The event will begin at 2 p.m. and is open to all cancer survivors.
