Upcoming grocery store tours provide tips for healthy shopping

Whether the labels on food products leave you scratching your head or you’re just looking for some ideas for a great tasting and healthy snack, The University of Tennessee Medical Center can help you.

Registered dietitians from the medical center want to help you make the right choices for a healthy lifestyle when you’re at the grocery store. In a free program presented by the Healthy Living Kitchen team from UT Medical Center’s Heart Lung Vascular Institute, the upcoming Grocery Store Tours will give you the opportunity to walk the aisles with a nutrition expert and get the answers to all those questions you always wanted to know while at the store.

“The grocery store is a place that can make or break your eating habits from a healthy living perspective,” said Janet Seiber, a registered dietitian at UT Medical Center and a frequent presenter of the tours. “Learning to make better choices in the grocery store really can help you toward a healthier overall lifestyle.”

The registered dietitians from UT Medical Center will give you a tour around area Food City and Kroger stores and share tips on healthy grocery shopping, comparing food labels and selecting food items that fit your desired eating plan. Upcoming Grocery Store Tours at Knoxville area stores
