Physical therapist earns orthopedic specialist certification

Physical Therapist Ruth Conlin with The University of Tennessee Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Services Department recently achieved Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification. Conlin will be recognized for her accomplishment at the American Physical Therapy Association meeting in February 2011.

“Ruth truly is one of the most motivated individuals I have met,” said Brian Wood, director of Rehabilitation Services at UT Medical Center. “No one could ever even try to push Ruth as hard as she drives herself. She is consistently looking for ways to improve her skills and knowledge. What’s most impressive is that her motivation comes from a desire to best treat her patients. Ruth is patient focused and UT Medical Center is fortunate to have such a dedicated physical therapist.

Conlin, who began working at UT Medical Center 21 years ago, earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in December 2009 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The West Knoxville resident received her Masters of Physical Therapy from UT Memphis.
