UT Medical Center Hosts Open House at New Hardin Valley Medical Office

Dozens of people from the Hardin Valley area enjoyed food, fun and free health screenings at an open house for The University of Tennessee Medical Center’s new Hardin Valley medical offices.

The offices house UT Internal Medicine Hardin Valley and UT Medical Center’s Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine clinic. Dr. John D. Carroll, Dr. Sameh Naguib and physical therapy clinic manager Ryan Childress hosted the open house, offered health-related tips and gave tours of their new medical offices to residents and patients who live and work in and near the rapidly growing Hardin Valley area.

“We are so pleased to bring an internal medicine practice and physical therapy and sports medicine clinic to the Hardin Valley area,“ Dr. Carroll said. “So many people are moving into the new homes and businesses here. For those who live and work in the Hardin Valley area, and even for those who commute regularly on Pellissippi Parkway and Oak Ridge Highway through this area, we are glad to offer them a reliable and convenient medical practice and physical therapy clinic.”

Attendees of the open house enjoyed a Healthy Living Kitchen cooking class demonstration, courtesy of UT Medical Center’s Heart Lung Vascular Institute. Monty Lowans, executive chef at UT Medical Center, and Jane Kelly, a registered nurse with UT Medical Center’s Heart Lung Vascular Institute, taught people how to make healthy and delicious yogurt marinated chicken and whole wheat pasta salad.

The medical professionals at the open house offered community members balance screenings, body mass index (BMI) assessments, back and neck pain information and blood pressure checks.
