Accuray launched a new CyberKnife Patient Education website dedicated to educating patients on the CyberKnife Stereotactic Radiosurgery System's ability to treat tumors anywhere in the body.

The site includes new and updated content on the CyberKnife system, tips on reimbursement, information for a patient to share with their physician and a collection of CyberKnife patient stories. In addition, the CyberKnife Patient Support Group forum is now located on this site. The forum as undergone upgrades that still include all of the familiar sections such as Ask the Doctor and Patient to Patient discussion boards.

CyberKnife, a non-invasive, image guided, high-energy radiation treatment, often is used for tumors treatment and is capable of treatment throughout the entire body. CyberKnife stereotactic radiosurgery delivers precise beams of radiation from many angles outside the body without requiring the use of a metal head frame used in previous treatments. (Read how CyberKnife can help you.)

This technology is able to treat conditions such as lung cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, trigeminal neuralgia, neck and spinal tumors and many lesions, even tumors that are considered inoperable or untreatable with surgery or other options.
