The season for holiday get-togethers is fast approaching. The Healthy Living Kitchen team at The University of Tennessee Medical Center wants you to be able to enjoy those parties and not have to leave the gatherings bearing the traditional holiday overindulgence guilt. The team has healthier options for you and will present them at the Healthy Living Kitchen Holiday Appetizer Makeover cooking class at 12 noon Wednesday, Nov. 11 in Suite E-170 of UT Medical Center’s Heart Lung Vascular Institute.
The Healthy Living Kitchen team, created by UT Medical Center’s Heart Lung Vascular Institute, will help you start your holiday events right by demonstrating low-fat appetizer recipes, providing festive tips on party planning and helping you make the right choices to avoid the much dreaded holiday bulge that’s often associated with the season.
The Healthy Living Kitchen team includes Senior Executive Chef Mark McKinney, Registered Dietitian Janet Seiber and Cardiac Nurse Specialist Jane Kelly, all of UT Medical Center.
The $20 cost of this class includes the lesson, health education and a meal.
