Knoxville Event Joins Patients, Survivors, Family and Friends in Support of Leukemia and Lymphoma
Balloons and entertainment filled Volunteer Landing on the evening of Oct. 5 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night walk. This event joined blood cancer patients, survivor’s, family and friends in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual nationwide fundraiser.
The University of Tennessee Medical Center Team, led by this year's Honorary Chair, Dr. Wahid Hanna, was present to raise awareness along with funds for the fight against blood cancers. As a sponsoring organization, UT Medical Center team members walked side by side with more than 400 participants who held balloons with the color that represented their connection with a blood-related cancer such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
As Honorary Chair, Dr. Wahid Hanna thanked everyone who had helped those battle blood cancers and encouraged all to continue the fight.
