Physical therapist John Dorset of The University of Tennessee Medical Center recently received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Dorset, a team leader, sees patients at the medical center’s Northshore Physical Therapy Clinic in Knoxville.

“We are proud of John for continuing to improve his skills through higher education and his dedication to the profession of physical therapy,” said Brent Pendergast, outpatient clinical manager of Rehabilitation Services at UT Medical Center. “John’s strong leadership and devotion to individualized patient care has truly been a driving factor for patients to choose UT Medical Center as their therapy provider.”

A graduate of Carson Newman with a B.A. in biology, Dorset continued his education at The University of Tennessee, Memphis, where he received a B.S. in physical therapy. Prior to joining the medical center, Dorset worked as a physical therapist at Foothills Physical Therapy.

Dorset lives in Farragut with his wife, Amy, and their two children, Charlie and Amelia. The family attends Concord United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Dorset enjoys mountain biking.
