The First Annual Stroke Symposium to take place on Aug. 15 provides the most current information about stroke prevention, stroke treatment and stroke recovery for pre-hospital providers, physicians, nurses and rehabilitation professionals who care for patients experiencing stroke. The stroke symposium will be held at The University of Tennessee Conference Center, 600 Henley Street, Knoxville, Tennessee.
Featured speaker, Anne Alexandrov, PhD, RN, CCRN, FAAN, will present "Blood Pressure Management in Stroke" and a nursing breakout session. Sessions include emergency management, new stroke therapies, management of hemorrhagic stroke in the critical care unit, carotid stenting, secondary stroke prevention, stroke rehabilitation, MEND exam for pre-hospital providers, EMS case studies and community education.
This stroke program has been approved for 7.5 contact hours by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Registration fee is $25 for physicians, RNs, EMS and Allied Health Professionals; $10 for students; and FREE to UHS employees.
