UT Medical Center was named one of the Top 20 Most Popular Hospitals on Twitter (@utmedicalcenter). The list - compiled by well-respected online healthcare professional, Ed Bennett – is based on statistics gathered on Aug. 12 from hospitals and medical centers currently using the social networking application Twitter.

The medical center joined others on the list that included top hospitals such as Mayo Clinic, University of Maryland Medical Center, University of Michigan Health System, Cleveland Clinic and others. At the #18 ranking, the medical center already has surpassed the reported Twitter followers and number of updates listed in the report. Currently, the medical center has almost 2,000 followers and almost 1,000 updates, including special events, new services and treatments, programs and healthy living information.
