The Department of Pastoral Care provides chaplain services at UT Medical Center to patients, families and staff members of any or no denominational or religious affiliation. It does not impose a particular set of beliefs on anyone; rather, it is its mission to assist people to make use of their own spiritual resources.
A chaplain is available in the hospital 24 hours a day and can be reached through the hospital operator. Chaplains routinely visit patients, counsel with them and pray with and/or for them. Chaplains are happy to be asked to visit with and to consult regarding the patient and/or family. Chaplains also offer counseling in Pastoral Care offices to patients, families and staff members.
