During the admission process, you will be asked to assign all benefits of any insurance you have to the surgery center so that it may bill these companies on your behalf and receive the payment directly.
After your discharge, a bill will be mailed to your insurance provider. If there is a remaining balance after the insurance company pays or denies the claim, you will be responsible for paying that balance. Should you have any questions concerning payments or denial, please contact your insurance company. Any portion of your bill that your insurance will not pay is your responsibility. UT Day Surgery collects deductible, coinsurance and copays prior to service.
You will receive separate bills from your surgeon and other specialists such as a radiologist, anesthesiologist or pathologist for services that your doctor has requested. These professional service charges are not included in your UT Day Surgery bill.
As a service to you, UT Day Surgery provides a trained staff of individuals who will bill and process your claim for you so that you will receive the full reimbursement to which you are entitled. If your claim is rejected or modified by your insurance company, it is your responsibility to pay the balance.
The bill you receive from UT Day Surgery, may be eligible for a discount if you do not have insurance coverage. In some cases of hardship, other arrangements may be made. For information about our guidelines for assistance, please contact patient accounts at 865.305.8585.
