Welcome to UT Day Surgery

Preparation and Arrival

Thank you for choosing UT Day Surgery. In order to expedite the process for your upcoming surgery, we have compiled the following information.

Prior to Your Day of Surgery

The following are instructions before arriving for surgery.

  1. Your surgeon will schedule your surgery and discuss any laboratory or radiology test you may need. At this time, you may be asked to complete a preoperative evaluation. Please inform us of any allergies you might have or medication you are taking. Feel free at any time to ask questions concerning your procedure.
  2. A pre-registration packet may be given to you by your surgeon's office. Please complete and review your information prior to the day of surgery. The documents also are found online. If you do not have Internet access and need additional forms, please contact us at 865.305.8585.
  3. A basic fee has been established for your particular surgical procedure and may not include additional procedures your physician could order. Not included are feeds from the surgeon, pathologist, anesthesiologist, radiologist or some ancillary services. Payment of the estimated price of the procedure will be required for elective, non-emergency procedures not covered by insurance. Estimated copayments and deductibles are due at the time of service. Any questions you might have may be directed to UT Day Surgery Registration at 865.305.8585 Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  4. If a change in your physical condition such as fever, cold, cough, rash or important change in the condition for which you are to have surgery develops prior to surgery, please notify your surgeon.
  5. Please make arrangements with a responsible adult to drive you home after surgery. You must not operate any motor vehicle if you have had general anesthesia or intravenous sedation.
  6. If you have not received a call from our pre-op nurse 24 hours prior to your procedure, call 865.305.8196 with questions.
  7. If your surgeon ordered preadmission testing, you may contact the testing clinic at 865.305.9076.
