Health Break - PVD

One health concern that affects eight to 12 million Americans – yet fails to exhibit symptoms in many of its victims – is called Peripheral Vascular Disease, or P.V.D. This “silent” disease often is associated with high blood pressure and occurs when blood flow to the legs is impeded by hardening of the leg arteries and build-up of fatty deposits. Symptoms include resting foot pain and leg cramps when walking. But patients with P.V.D. who exercise three times a week for 30 minutes a day are healthier and feel better.
