Stroke Follow-Up Clinic
The Stroke Follow-Up Clinic at the Cole Neuroscience Center provides access to an expert team specializing in stroke care.
The Stroke Follow-up team is comprised of a neurologist, nurse practitioner, and other clinical team members. The neurologist and clinical team will evaluate you to determine if there are any new or worsening problems that could benefit from treatment to improve function and quality of life after your stroke.
Many people who have had a stroke notice functional problems that might begin several weeks or months after they are discharged from the hospital. This can lead to other complications such as skin breakdown, muscle stiffening or weakness, incontinence, difficulty moving, decline in independence, and depression.
The Stroke Follow-Up Clinic creates a system to treat these problems. Your neurologist and clinical team will work closely with you to determine when and how often you need to return to prevent complications.
