The University of Tennessee Medical Center, in partnership with Red Hot Mamas®, will host a 10-week educational series about "Outsmarting Menopause™". All classes are free to attend, but registration is required. Classes will be held on the following dates:

  2. Menopause & Hormone Therapy, Sept. 20th 
  3. An Alternate Route: Non-Hormonal Therapies, Oct. 18th 
  4. Bladder & Urinary Concerns at Menopause, Nov. 15th 
  5. Heart Disease & Menopause. The Beat Goes On, Jan. 12th 
  6. Sex & Menopause, Feb. 9th 
  7. Osteoporosis & Menopause...Boning Up on Bone Health, Mar. 9th 
  8. Breast Changes at Menopause, April 6 
  9. Memory Meltdown At Menopause, May 4th 
  10. Sleep & Menopause, Jun. 1st 
The ninth program of the series, Memory Meltdown at Menopause, will address several topics such as:
  • Anatomy and architecture of the brain 
  • Brain functions and how neurotransmitters affect mental health 
  • Types of memory
  • Changes in the brain as it ages 
  • Effect of declining hormone levels on the brain
  • Effect of hormone therapy on the brain 
  • Explanation of "mind fog" including symptoms and causes 
  • Overview of diseases linked to memory loss 
  • Examples of ways to minimize memory loss
