The Comprehensive Cardiac Center (CCC) Certification is a new honor awarded by The Joint Commission. The University of Tennessee Medical Center is first in the state, and among the first in the nation, to achieve this certification. Evaluation and recommendations from the nation's premiere healthcare accreditation organization set a high standard for our cardiac programs.
CCC certification honors cardiac programs with a comprehensive approach to care and a commitment to excellence. The certification is granted through an evaluation of patient-centered care.
In order to obtain CCC Certification, the medical center was required to show excellence and exceed quality measurements in at least seven of the following areas:
- Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Heart Failure
- Cardiac Arrest/Resuscitation
- Coronary Artery Bypass
- Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization Procedure
- Valve Replacement/Repair
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
- ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction
- Arrhythmia Management
- Acute Myocardial Infarction
