The region’s only Atrial Fibrillation Center offers treatment for atrial fibrillation.

The purpose of the Atrial Fibrillation Center is to evaluate, manage and provide various treatment options for patients with atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib. It is the only program of its kind in the East Tennessee region.

As Baby Boomers age, the atrial fibrillation population in the United States is expected to swell from approximately 2.7 million to 12.1 million by 2030. The Atrial Fibrillation Center will work to meet the growing needs of the region’s AFib patients by providing the most innovative treatment options and proven therapies that will produce the best outcome for AFib patients.

Patients must have a physician referral. Upon acceptance into the center, patients will be evaluated by a general cardiologist, cardiac eletrophysiologist or cardiothoracic surgeon to determine the most appropriate course of treatment.

Patient monitoring and follow-up are an important part of the program.

The center’s physicians will help you decide which atrial fibrillation treatment is best for you and will keep your primary care physician informed of your progress.
