Our UT Chest Service is University Heart Surgeons and University Pulmonary and Critical Care working together to provide a unique specialty service for patients.  This service is designed to evaluate and manage patients with abnormal chest x-rays showing a nodule, mass, unresolved pneumonia, lung or esophageal cancer. We can manage patients with the highest risk factors for lung cancer with the ability to provide screenings for early detection.

Physician appointments include evaluation, physical exam, laboratory testing and diagnostic studies leading to diagnosis and a plan of care.

Cases are presented weekly to a group of specialists in the fields of radiology, pathology, interventional pulmonology, cardiothoracic surgery, radiation therapy and medical oncology.

All of this comes together to benefit the patient with improved quality of life through timely access for diagnosis and treatment.  Coordination of care between specialists is maximized to provide quality and cost effective care.
