Each year, University Cancer Specialists provides compassionate medical care for thousands of cancer patients from East Tennessee and beyond. Many patients request their own appointments while others are referred to us by a doctor.
Your results are sent to primary care doctors or other referring doctors, as requested. If you require hospitalization, you can be cared for at The University of Tennessee Medical Center, located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Team Approach to Care
Each case is unique, and a multidisciplinary approach enables us to treat you with the greatest attention. We review each case as a team of specialists, exchanging information and expertise to develop the best course of treatment.
But we are only part of the team. The patient and his/her support group are also an important part of the treatment team.We encourage every patient to ask questions about your treatment, request more information concerning your specific type of cancer and be fully informed each step of the treatment process.
Before Your First Appointment

To begin, you’ll need to bring the following on your first visit:
- A list of your current medications
- A list of known allergies
- Insurance cards, including any drug plans you may have
- A family member (support group)
- A written list of questions
