Dr. Elise Denneny was born in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Northwestern University obtaining her Medical Degree from Rush Medical College ,residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery with a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery finishing in 1987. Dr. Denneny came to East Tennessee in 1987 and has been here since raising a family and treating East Tennesseans. Dr. Denneny describes being a physician as combining the intellectual challenge of finding out why a person is sick with the privilege of making them better. Otolaryngology, involves treating many illnesses and particularly sinus and dizziness, including difficulties with balance, and voice disorders. “The satisfaction is unending when you are truly improving one’s quality of life” says Denneny. A first generation immigrant, Dr. Denneny’s family placed emphasis on holding true to their values. Loving the outdoors her hobbies include a variety of arts and exercise. Dr. Denneny believe in giving back to the community while being a strong advocate for her profession and patients . Active with Joy of Music, Metro Drug Coalition and Knoxville Area Project Access , past president of the Knoxville Academy of Medicine and Tennessee Medical Association.
